This role is responsible for the successful delivery of Workday Financials implementation and deployment projects. The role requires the knowledge and experience of Financial system implementation, core project management skills and principles coupled with external and internal stakeholder management skills.

Areas of responsibilities

  • Executing the project implementation activities in line with Workday's methodology from project planning to deploy and hyper-care stages
  • Managing project commercials including proactive and efficient monitoring of resource and budget utilization
  • Managing project governance including proactively managing and mitigating risks, dependencies and assumptions
  • Constructively and effectively managing customer and internal stakeholders
  • Lead internal project team members
  • Coach and support junior delivery team members

Necessary Experience

  • 5 - 10 years' experience with implementing any Tier 1 or 2 Financials applications in Project Management capacity.
  • Multiple Financials projects
  • Variety of full cycle implementation projects delivered successfully  
  • Solid understanding of HR and/or Financial processes as subject matter

Skills & Competencies

  • Time management and scheduling - Manages workload efficiently by prioritizing tasks based on criticality and importance. Uses scheduling tools effectively and meets deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Planning - proactively apply a wide range of considerations in preparing new and assessing existing project timelines to ensure continuous suitability for project scope
  • Risk management & problem solving - Identifies risks and assesses potential impacts. Analyses problems, suggests solution options and implements corrective actions
  • Stakeholder & communication management - Builds and maintains positive stakeholder relationships, adapting communication style to difference audiences. Conveys key messages effectively and resolves conflicts professionally.
  • Budgeting & financial - prepares and manages project estimations and budgets, monitors and analyses budget spent vs outcomes delivered
  • Accuracy & precision -works with high level of accuracy and applies attention to detail to all deliverables produced
  • Team Leadership - exposure to team supervision/coaching/mentoring
  • Analytical and business analysis skills and good level of proficiency with MS tools suite & Smartsheet
  • Accounting or Finance department background

Desirable certifications

  • Workday EM/PM Certification
  • Project Management certifications (APM or PMI certifications)
