Job Summary

The Work Week Manager is responsible for safe and effective preparation and execution of the weekly integrated Station Schedule during all modes of operation. Responsible for effective coordination of all work activities necessary to execute a work week including Surveillances, Preventive, Repetitive, Corrective, Elective and Modification and Predictive maintenance activities, as well as clearance activities necessary to ensure safe and efficient accomplishment of work from six weeks prior to implementation through execution and assessment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Aligned by week, each Work Week Manager is responsible for coordination, release, and orchestration of that week's work including prioritization and incorporation of emergent work, assessment of implementation, risk assessment and risk management. Ensures that clearance requirements, impacts and effects of work, impacted technical specifications, and required post maintenance and surveillance testing are identified. Performs a post work week assessment of the implementation. These activities require daily interface and leadership among multiple station and corporate work groups to finalize scope of work to be successfully accomplished. Performs duties in a manner that balances and optimizes the key considerations of; risk management, plant availability, equipment reliability, radiation exposure, equipment out-of-service time, error prevention techniques, training and qualifications as well as resource utilization.
  • Provides overall management, direction, coordination and communication of all work week activities. Is the single point of contact 24/7 for the assigned work week and provides leadership for the target week process.
  • Coordinates work activities between various work groups to minimize equipment out of service time, maintain safety system availability and improve productivity.
  • Communicates to station management concerns with work activities to ensure prompt attention.
  • Develops and implements System Outage Windows (SOWs) as assigned. Provides overall management of SOWs and Voluntary Limiting Condition Operations (VLCOs).
  • Performs on-line risk assessments and identifies risk management activities. This includes nuclear safety (Core Damage Frequency-CDF/Large Early Release Frequency-LERF) risk, generation risk, reactivity risk, and radiological risk.
  • Coordinates Forced Outage Review Team (FORT) callout and work group callouts.
  • Evaluates emergent work activities, adjusts priorities, adjusts risk assessments and risk management activities as required and integrates emergent work into the overall schedule.
  • Reviews work documents for personnel safety (blocking), impacts and effects to the plant, technical specification applicability, post maintenance testing and operability testing. Understands and reviews work documents associated with fire protection, Negative Leak Rate Testing/Positive Leak Rate Testing (NLRT/PLRT) boundary breaches, work on station doors, etc.
  • Performs updates and publishes the work week schedule daily. Performs critical assessment of work week implementation.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities of an Evolution Coordinator as assigned.
  • Ensures a constructive and healthy relationship with customers such as operations, maintenance production, engineering, marketing and other affected work groups.
  • Performs Outage and Nuclear Emergency Response Organization (NERO) duties as qualified and assigned.
  • Maintains and improves qualifications and proficiency for the duties and responsibilities associated with the requirements of Discipline Scheduler.
  • Actively uses the Corrective Action and Self-Assessment processes, including quality resolution of assigned action items, as well as support of RCA teams and Self Assessments such as After-Action Reviews (AAR) (Work Week Report Card Guideline; Quarterly Work Week Assessment Guideline).
  • Is a Leader/Active Participant/Member of the following station committees/meetings: Daily Station Status Meeting; Daily Work Classification and Screening Meeting; Schedule Update/Work Reconciliation Meeting when they are required; AR/CR Screening Team; T+1 Work Week Evaluation Meeting (Report Card Meeting); FORT Team; and other committees as assigned

Junior Work Week Manager

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BE (or Equivalent Experience), OR a minimum of 3 years commercial nuclear experience.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required.
  • Ability to physically respond and have unescorted access to SSES.
  • Basic knowledge of nuclear plant operations in the form of; plant specific certification, projects, maintenance, engineering, or equivalent plant or process experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • INTERNAL HIRE
    • 5 yrs on site
    • Knowledge of the fundamentals of Susquehanna processes to include:
    • Ability to navigate through NIMS, and Primavera (P6) or Syntempo
    • Fundamental understanding of work management process
    • Familiar with the roles and responsibilities of operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and radiation protection
    • Established communication skills
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • EXTERNAL HIRE
    • 5 yrs experience at another nuclear facility with operations, maintenance, engineering, or work management experience
    • Established communication skills
    • Established leadership skills

Senior Work Week Manager

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BE (or Equivalent Experience).
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required.
  • Ability to physically respond and have unescorted access to SSES.
  • Extensive knowledge of nuclear plant operations in the form of; Senior Reactor Operator license, Shift Technical Advisor, plant specific certification, maintenance, engineering, or equivalent plant or process experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous or current Senior Reactor Operator License or Certification, OR +5 years non-licensed operating experience and demonstrated leadership.
  • +5 years of supervisory experience in one of the following departments: OPS, MAINT, ENG, WM, RP, CHEM, SECR or QC/QA (or equivalent experience), 
  • Established communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with the following:
  • Understanding of work management process
  • NIMS - Work document review, component information and modification process; knowledge of work implementation and Work Management Process.
  • P-6 - Develop work windows, logic ties and resource manpower loading; capable of obtaining various P-6 reports for both outage and on-line periods.
  • PRA – Probability Risk Assessment Tool
