Job Summary
This role, as part of the Integration Center organization, provides work management clerical support for various gas and electric operations work activities across NiSource. Primary responsibilities of this role are to execute and be accountable for the specific tasks (daily, weekly, monthly) as defined for the position's dedicated area of responsibility. This role will collaborate with multiple internal (i.e. technical functions) and external stakeholders (state and local municipalities, construction contractors, etc.) to meet strategic goals and objectives. Adherence to NiSource's critical Core 4 is paramount to ensure operational rigor and advancement of SMS as our core operating model.
Essential Functions

  • Promotes and assures a safe working environment and public safety
  • Excellent internal and external customer service through strong and effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Accurate and timely work preparation tasks including job order creation, permitting, material ordering, preparation of correspondence, job packet creation, obtaining locates for site readiness and managing dependencies (e.g. site restoration, work zone protection, job order execution and invoicing)
  • Ensures accurate systems of record
  • Monitors compliance reports and escalates risk
  • Effective prioritization of tasks to ensure customer, company and compliance dates are met
  • Exercises judgment, within scope, to determine best approach to achieve desired outcome
  • Utilization of various PC Applications & Mainframe Applications
  • Receiving telephone notices of gas leaks. Identifying those notices that require immediate response by the company and dispatching personnel to the scene

Required Qualifications For Position

  • High School Diploma Or equivalent
  • Experience with PC Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have a strong focus on detail orientation
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to function in a team environment and collaborate within and across organizational lines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in providing extraordinary customer service with internal and external customers
  • Must be self-motivated to manage daily responsibilities with limited direction in a changing, fast paced environment in a professional and responsive manner
  • Results oriented and possesses effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage and execute tasks with multiple conflicting priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret technical data.
  • Proficient in WMS, DIS, NiFast and other company systems
  • Familiar with Company Policies and Procedures
  • Basic understanding of the utility industry
  • Knowledge of the natural gas industry and general customer expectations

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Experience working with field operations

Salary Range:

$44,200.00 - $61,900.00
