Job Summary:
TechSource a Salas O’Brien Company is hiring a full-time Work Control Planner to support mission-critical maintenance, operations, and construction activities onsite at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) as part of the TRIAD Maintenance & Operations contract. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and authorizing work activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work in DOE-regulated facilities.
As a Work Control Planner, you will work closely with LANL personnel, craft teams, engineers, and internal TechSource staff to develop work packages that meet safety, quality, and operational requirements. This position supports rotating shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holiday coverage.
TechSource offers a relocation bonus that will be provided on the first paycheck to support candidates moving to the Los Alamos, NM area.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and manage work control packages in accordance with LANL work planning and control processes.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations, safety, and field personnel to ensure work is properly scoped, sequenced, and authorized.
- Identify hazards and required controls, ensuring compliance with Integrated Work Management (IWM) and Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) requirements.
- Ensure work packages include accurate task descriptions, procedures, permits, drawings, materials, and labor resources.
- Participate in work reviews, pre-job briefings, and scheduling meetings to support safe and efficient execution.
- Track work progress, resolve planning issues, and support changes or re-planning as required.
- Ensure adherence to LANL policies, DOE regulations, and site-specific safety and quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- DOE Q security clearance or the ability to obtain one (active clearance highly preferred).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of work planning, work control, maintenance planning, or related experience, preferably in a DOE/NNSA, national laboratory, nuclear, or heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support work across rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-demand coverage.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work onsite at LANL in Los Alamos, NM with relocation support available.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working within LANL or other DOE/NNSA facilities.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), work control software, or integrated scheduling tools.
- Experience planning work in high-hazard or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of maintenance, construction, or facility operations processes.
Location: This position will be fully on-site at LANL in Los Alamos, NM with relocation assistance available.
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
