The Assistant Work Control Supervisor assists the Work Control Supervisor managing work control operations to ensure the timely and accurate dissemination and documentation of maintenance work orders and ensure correct and complete reporting. The Assistant Supervisor is also responsible for oversight of Work Control employees, and implementation of all work control systems in the absence of the Supervisor.

  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).

  • Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tessera's Accident Reporting process.

  • Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, empathy, and responsiveness.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the data entry and the administrative production requirements of the contract; ensure all data entries have been verified and approved for time/attendance (T/A) and ensure consistency of information between payroll records and work control software.

  • Work with other sections within the organization to ensure maintenance readiness reports are correct and submitted in time. Ensure the necessary maintenance records are maintained and required reports are submitted to the Site/Operations manager in a timely manner.

  • Oversees the input and asset maintenance of data, including work orders into Maximo and work results into IFS/GFEBS (Army automation systems)

  • Monitors and supervises operation of a 24/7/365 service order desk operation.

  • Distribute written specifications, as appropriate provide project-wide, recurring production control reports to determine peak workloads, trend analyses, forecast requirements, and other data to produce efficiencies.

  • Communicate with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to accurately determine work priorities, anticipate fluctuations in workload and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for attaining work order extensions, when requested, from the COR, and keep apprised of any changes or complications that might affect the adjusted date.

  • Manage a staff of production control clerks to ensure all Tessera policies, procedures, and standards are met and understood for effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Instruct and train employees and new hires on proper procedures pertaining to safety, workbook completion, required reports, planning, work control etc.

  • Ensure documentation of employees, including annual evaluations and disciplinary corrective actions, are conducted and maintained at the appropriate level according to Tessera policies, customer contracts, and state and federal laws.

  • Continuously monitor existing methods of operations and document control to ensure efficiency of operations, as well as seek out improvements in operations.

  • Audit and respond to customer comments and complaints to ensure quality issues are corrected within contract and Tessera policies and procedures.

  • Maintains exceptional relationships with the customer, contract officials, and contracted officers representing customers.

  • Maintains Tessera’s core values for humanitarianism and employment of people with disabilities.

  • Maintain a neat appearance and shall wear appropriate clothing for the performance of the work being performed.

Qualifications: 

  • 5-8 years Planning Work Control is preferred; technical, or other formal training may be substituted in part for experience. 

  • Completes work with quality, reliability, and attention to detail. Follows through on commitments, takes ownership of responsibilities, and contributes to team success through collaboration and consistency.

  • Understands and supports Tessera’s mission of creating opportunities for people with disabilities and veterans. Demonstrates commitment to inclusion and equitable opportunities for all.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
