Operate Machines:
- Loads starting material into machine and unloads machined part from machine
- Deburrs Parts as necessary for Inspection and Safety
- Performs Daily Housekeeping around machine and Daily Maintenance checks
- Adjusts tool offsets as necessary; Notifies more senior employee to make other machine offsets and adjustments
Set-Up Jobs:
- No responsibilities
Tooling:
- Recognizes that tool wear has occurred
- Adjusts tool offsets as necessary; notifies a more senior machining employee if tool needs to be changed
CNC Program:
- No responsibilities
Manual Inspection:
- Uses standard hand tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and hard gages to ensure that parts were fabricated within specifications
- Uses any specialty inspection device (ex: vision system) required in each machining cell
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM):
- Loads part onto CMM and operates CMM to ensure that parts were fabricated within specifications
Quality System & Documentation:
- Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and quality plans so as to understand inspection requirements
- Fills out Quality System paperwork and enters data into computer as necessary
Planning & Scheduling:
- Operates more than 1 machine at the same time, as required
Training:
- Trains other employees on the basics of operating equipment on which employee is fully competent
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
- Notifies more senior machining employees, engineers, or supervisors when problems arise.
Process Design & Development:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Vocational Technical High School or Community College Advanced Manufacturing Certificate graduate preferred. 0-4 years of Equivalent combination of education and experience
