Job Description

The Wonderful Leadership Program is a full-time, two-year rotational program that offers the opportunity to expand your potential and become a leader at Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds. Throughout each rotation, the Wonderful Leader will launch and implement new projects that drive business productivity and improve department processes. They will also be exposed to a broad range of tasks per department needs, offering a cross-functional, company-wide experience that further develops leadership and problem-solving skills. Department rotations within the Wonderful Leadership Program include, but are not limited to: Preprocessing, Roasting, Packaging, Shipping, Harvest, Human Resources, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities within rotations:

  • Operations Management:
    • Achieve production goals on time, in a safe and efficient manner;
    • Manage standard work, within responsible zones to achieve production output and quality targets;
    • Monitor scheduling dashboard frequently and make the necessary adjustments;
    • Address downtime;
    • Maintain and update production records and KPIs;
    • Work on continuous improvements projects.
    • Manage a crew of production workers;
    • Lead and participate in daily startup meetings;
    • Ensure crew and work area is operating at company safety standards;
    • Create work schedules for the employees and coordinate with Time Department any changes;
    • Attend pass down meetings and provide status updates;
    • Assign employees to work areas per daily production needs;
    • Manage employee performance, including performance reviews, disciplinary actions, attendance, etc.
    • Interview, select and train new employees per department needs;
    • Handle conflict resolution.


  • Business Administration:
    • Analyze data and create reports and key performance indicators.
    • Attend daily meetings and provide updates to management;
    • Communicate issues with stakeholders and customers;
    • Negotiate with internal and external customers, advocating for the needs of the department;
    • Explore business opportunities per company needs;
    • Plan and execute special projects per continuous improvement efforts;
    • Provide work direction to one or more technical or clerical staff or act as a team lead on designated projects or assignments;
    • Conduct plant visits in assigned areas, and promptly follow up with any questions or concerns presented by the employees.
    • Provide guidance to employees regarding company’s procedures, trainings and progression opportunities.


  • Supply Chain
    • Prepare, analyze, and approve customer supply orders following good manufacturing practices and safety practices;
    • Communicate directly with customers and sales team members at the corporate (wholesale/retail) level to resolve issues quickly;
    • Assist all aspects of customer service department on an as needed basis;
    • Act as a liaison between the company and the external customer, addressing issues and finding proper solutions per business needs;
    • Execute shipping logistic plans per customer needs;
    • Prepare and ensure proper documentation for each customer order;
    • Master the use of the company’s technical platforms;
    • Provide work direction to one or more technical or clerical staff or act as a team lead on designated projects or assignments;
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure in-time order completion and shipment.

Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required - college degree preferred, or experience in manufacturing.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules.
  • Verbally fluent in Spanish or willingness to learn conversational Spanish during the program.
  • Problem solving skills and continuous improvement focus.
  • Proven written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to use data for storytelling.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills; knowledge of statistics is desirable.
  • Recognized efforts to complete multiple tasks independently and efficiently in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Displays curiosity, is a self-starter and a fast learner. 
  • Demonstrated ability to actively contribute to their team to complete tasks and meet goals.
  • Ability to handle extremely confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
    Pay Range: $68,640 - $70,000 and may include a performance bonus up to $10,000 by the end of the Program. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Work Environment

  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and crowded work areas.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The dust levels in the work environment are usually high. (Safety protection will be provided.)
  • The employee may spend 50% or more of their work hours on the plant floor.
  • Must be able to work any shift, including nights, weekends, or rotating schedules.
