We invite a compassionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Withdrawal Management Specialist for our program.  This role involves coordinating and monitoring patient activities, as well as managing the daily operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift.

This position is for the following shifts:

2nd shift                       4 pm to 12 midnight

3rd shift                       12 midnight to 8:00 am

Please note that all applicants must undergo a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, as well as a comprehensive background check and a TB test.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

Please take vital signs as needed. Training will be provided.

Conduct intake screens and assess potential patients to determine their eligibility. Obtains pertinent information regarding patient drug/alcohol use, medical and social history, and patient needs.

Provides information to the agency physician regarding medical issues and medication clearance, and monitors medication according to operating policy and the physician’s directions.

Provides case management services to all patients enrolled in the chronic withdrawal management program. Conducts individual and group sessions. Completes necessary paperwork. Monitors patients throughout the shift. 

Assists in medical/mental health treatment referrals and informs supervisor of all incidents beyond the scope of the typical withdrawal management functions.

Verify the accuracy of monitoring reports.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Minimum of HS diploma or GED. 

An Associate Degree or a Bachelor's degree in human services is preferred. 

A Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) certification or the ability to obtain it within 18 months of the hire date is required.

Experience

Prior experience with the substance misuse field, providing direct patient care, assessment, triage, crisis intervention, and group counseling. 

Other

Solid communication skills and basic computer skills are required. 

CPR and First-Aid certification (the agency will cover the costs for initial training and renewals). 

Must be able to take vital signs and recognize medical problems.
