Job Summary:

Civeo Premium Services Employees LP is seeking a Winter Caretaker who is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and security of the Christina Lake site during the winter season. This is a largely solitary position requiring a self-motivated and reliable individual capable of working independently in remote conditions. The successful candidate will ensure facilities, utilities, roads, cabins, and grounds are maintained in a safe and operational condition while serving as the primary on-site representative during the winter months. This position will be on a rotational basis 7 days on / 7 days off. 

Please Note: this is a temporary position for 6-months 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of cabins, buildings, equipment, and site facilities.
  • Perform daily utility checks, including monitoring and recording the status of power, water, heating, fuel systems, and other site infrastructure.
  • Operate a plow truck and associated equipment to clear snow from roads, parking areas, walkways, and access routes.
  • Monitor weather and site conditions and respond appropriately to winter-related hazards.
  • Perform routine site supervision and maintain a visible presence throughout the property.
  • Coordinate and facilitate maintenance and repair activities with contractors, service providers, and management when required.
  • Monitor security trail cameras and investigate or report any suspicious activity, trespassing, wildlife concerns, or other security risks.
  • Complete regular site reports
  • Identify and report safety hazards
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with established procedures and contact appropriate resources as required.
  • Ensure the site remains clean, secure, and ready for occupancy or operational use.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Experience operating pickup trucks equipped with snowplows or similar snow removal equipment. (Nice to have)
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills related to buildings, utilities, and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working alone in a remote environment and under winter conditions.
  • Experience in property management, facilities maintenance, camp operations, or caretaker roles is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in cold weather for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, and conduct inspections throughout the site.
