Internship Overview

The co-op student will support strategic energy management initiatives by assisting with data analysis, project coordination, performance reporting, and the identification of energy efficiency opportunities across the organization.

In this role, you will...

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Validate utility and ESG data, track energy/water/waste/carbon metrics, and improve data quality using tools like ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.

  • Energy Management Solutions Onboarding: Support onboarding of buildings/clients, configure monitoring tools, and set up reporting templates.

  • Capital Project Support: Assist in planning and tracking energy efficiency projects, prepare business cases, and manage documentation for incentives and grants.

  • Energy Management & Reporting: Track progress against Strategic Energy Management Plans (SEMPs) and help identify and prioritize energy-saving opportunities.

  • General Coordination & ESG Support: Attend meetings, track action items, and contribute to ESG-related presentations and internal initiatives.

What you'll bring...

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a degree program at a recognized B.C. university with an established Co-op program (e.g., UBC, SFU, UNBC).

  • Preference will be given to students in Engineering disciplines in their third or fourth year.

  • Strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Skilled communicators with a collaborative mindset. 

  • Passionate about learning and ready to tackle challenges in a professional environment. 

  • Maintains a high degree of discretion and confidentiality; uses diplomacy, and judgment in disclosing information.  

  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills.

Approximate Hourly Range for this Role: $22- $25

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
