Win / VMware Systems Administrator
We are seeking a Win / VMware Systems Administrator with experience in Microsoft Windows and various virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will exhibit knowledge across multiple platforms, providing support and management of Windows and virtualization environments. This role includes working with systems integration, stability, and performance.
Windows Administration:
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of PowerShell for complex scripting tasks and automation.
- Knowledge of DNS setup, configuration, and management.
- Knowledge in Active Directory for advanced user/domain management and group policies.
Virtualization & Cloud Technologies:
- Knowledge of VMware suite, including ESXi, vCenter, Horizon and VDIs.
- Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
- Experience in SAN storage solutions and their integration within various infrastructures.
- Understanding of enterprise environments and integrations.
General IT Skills:
- Understanding of network protocols, security measures, and deep knowledge of routing and switching.
- Knowledge in designing, implementing, and managing backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices for superior IT service management.
Job Overview:
This position involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computing infrastructure, operating systems, and middleware products on all computer platforms, including mainframes, workstations, and servers - including web servers - in support of 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week business processes.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- System Optimization:
- Evaluates, implements, and modifies operating system software parameters and product solutions for optimum performance.
- Identifies integration and other interface requirements for all supported products and platforms.
- Operational Management:
- Maintains and oversees virtual desktop infrastructures (VDIs) using VMware Horizon.
- Manages Kubernetes clusters to support containerized applications.
- Scripting & Automation:
- Develops and maintains scripts using PowerShell, ksh, and Python for automation and efficiency.
- Collaborative Integration:
- Works with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of all systems and platforms.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned to support the dynamic IT environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience in business process engineering.
