Join our Corporate Information Services (CIS) team delivering support and operational innovation for our Verisign global enterprise. The CIS team provides Verisign employees with services, solutions, and systems that maintain and promote internal productivity, and support business resilience initiatives.
The System Administrator IV provides technical leadership, collaborating across functional teams to deliver on IT Operations tasks and projects. The successful engineer will be responsible for enterprise systems and applications deployment, administration, configuration, automation and integration efforts in a VMware virtualized Windows server multi-site corporate production environment. Key responsibilities include: Windows Server Administration, Security vulnerability mitigations, and enterprise application administration.
Responsibilities:
- Windows OS administration and assigned applications
- Perform daily operations support functions including systems deployment, upgrade, patching, monitoring, SME problem escalation and troubleshooting, incident response and resolution; support Tier III escalations
- Deploy and configure Windows Servers and applications/databases, SSL certificates and other system components based on vendor best practice and internal security standards
- Use PowerShell scripting to automate and standardize Windows configuration and patching
- Follow defined ITIL change management processes with ticketing systems and InfoSec security policies
- Develop documentation such as upgrade plans, deployment plans, and SOPs
- Participate in team on-call rotation
Required skills and experience:
- 5+ years of systems administration experience with Windows servers and endpoints in a highly available secured enterprise operations environment
- Strong OS and application troubleshooting and problem management skills
- Good communication skills for collaborating with peers across technology groups and briefing senior management
- 8+ years relevant work experience
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience
Preferred skills:
- Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting and other WIN CLI tools or scripting languages
- Experience with Center for Internet Security, or other security framework standards
- Experience with SharePoint On-Prem, SolarWinds Monitoring, and Remote Desktop Technologies (RDS)
- Working knowledge of networking, virtualization, storage, backup, physical server and other infrastructure components
This position is based in our Reston, VA office.
The pay range is $123,500 - $167,100.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
