Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Windows Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • In coordination with Windows System Administrators and architects, design and implement automation processes to install, configure, and maintain the Windows Operating Systems (OS) environment. The successful candidate will be able to analyze and resolve problems associated with the operating system, hardware, architecture, applications, and software. Experienced in the detecting, diagnosing, and reporting Windows related problems across the environment. Possess expertise with varied concepts, procedures and industry best practices. Demonstrate expertise and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Capable of performing a variety of tasks without supervision.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise for the following services in a multitenancy environment: Active Directory (AD), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Virtualized Machines in Hyper-V and VMware running Windows OS (Includes Virtual Desktops and Servers)
  • Responsible for the security and management of Windows servers and desktops in non-production and production environments
  • Solve complex integration and technical problems in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Work with multiple teams of Systems Administrators, DBAs, and application developers to resolve various system issues.
  • Requires 24x7 on call support on a rotating basis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the design, installation and configuration of the Windows operating systems and applications to include Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10/11 machines.
  • Expert in the design, installation, configuration, and management of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure to include Hyper-V.
  • Ability to architect and design an AD transformation to maximize the efficiency of the AD implementation,
  • Expert in troubleshooting servers, workstations, and user experience issues with various COTS and Custom applications
  • Expert with SCCM for software patch management in a multi-tenancy environment
  • Knowledge and experience working with TOMCAT, McAfee (Trellix), SolarWinds and NetBackup applications.
  • Ability to architect, develop, and maintain documentation reflecting the current operational environment and any future state operational environments.
  • Possess excellent communication and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 10 or more years related professional experience. (Education can be substituted for 4 years of experience).
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or replacement Microsoft certification.
  • Experience with Perl/Shell Scripting
  • Experience with SAN or Network storage setup/administration
  • ITIL Certification

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain stationary up to 75% of the time in an office environment.
  • Must be able to traverse between one work location to another to accomplish work duties.
  • Must be able to operate IT equipment such as a computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to exchange information accurately.
  • Must be able to read, review and effectively respond to electronic as well as verbal communications.
  • This position supports an IT operations environment. Candidates may need to support work on nights and weekends and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Currently, the contract work location requirement is to work in the office at the customer’s site once weekly at a minimum. This is subject to change.

The projected compensation range for this position is $155,200-$257,900. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, ManTech invests in it’s employees beyond just compensation.
