About this role
A unique opportunity is available for an experienced WHS and Projects Business Partner to join our national People and Culture team on a part-time basis, working 3 days a week (0.6 FTE).
This is an impactful role that suits a WHS professional who is passionate about creating safer, healthier workplaces, while also contributing to broader people and culture initiatives.
Combining expertise in physical and psychosocial safety with policy development and project work, you will play an important part in helping us deliver an outstanding people experience. Working in a dynamic, innovative professional services environment, you'll partner with the broader P&C team and leaders across the business to strengthen our safety systems and capability, develop practical people policies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Lead the ongoing development and implementation of a practical, commercial WHS and wellbeing framework
Provide advice to P&C and leaders on physical and psychosocial safety risks
Coordinate workplace risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions
Support compliance with WHS legislation and internal safety policies and processes
Maintain WHS systems, registers and reporting
Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Support P&C team with workers compensation, return-to-work and early intervention activities
Policy and Governance
Draft, review and maintain People & Culture policies, procedures and guidelines
Ensure employment-related policies remain legally compliant, contemporary and aligned with company strategy
Support policy consultation, communication and implementation across the business
People Projects
Contribute to a range of People & Culture projects and initiatives
Support the implementation of new people programs, processes and systems
Skills and experience
You are a proactive, collaborative professional who enjoys variety and is comfortable pivoting between operational and project-based work.
Required
Qualification(s) in Workplace Health & Safety, Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related discipline(s)
Demonstrated experience in Workplace Health and Safety, ideally within a professional services, corporate, or knowledge-based environment
Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary safety practices
Experience managing both physical and psychosocial hazards
Experience writing policies and related procedures
Strong project management and organisational skills
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and practical documentation
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
A continuous improvement mindset and ability to effectively balance competing priorities
The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
Desirable
Return to Work Coordinator and Mental Health First Aid or similar qualification(s) would be desirable
