About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us in a permanent part-time role working across the Ramsay Cairns Network splitting your time between Cairns Private Hospital, Ramsay Surgical Centre Cairns and Ramsay Clinic Cairns.
As the WHS Coordinator, you’ll take the lead on WHS across the network, working closely with the National Safety Team and the facility Executive Team to foster a strong, proactive safety culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embedding and maintaining the Ramsay safety management system, templates and documentation.
- Investigating incidents and implementing solutions to minimise future risks.
- Conducting risk assessments, site audits, and workplace safety training.
- Developing and maintaining effective safety practices.
- Preparing and presenting safety performance reports for internal stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS), with a minimum of a Certificate IV in WHS.
- Proven experience in Work Health and Safety, ideally within the health sector or a large organisation.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently as the sole safety professional at your facility.
- A proactive and highly organised approach to managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with teams across all organisational levels.
- Strong skills in planning, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Full Australian work rights, a current police check, and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
