About the Team
The Wholesale Data Analyst will assist the Wholesale and wider 1GLOBAL team in analysing and managing data related to partner pricelists, roaming footprints, traffic rates, carrier volumes, invoices, and other relevant traffic and commercial information. The role will involve comparing and updating data, ensuring accuracy, identifying significant changes in data sets and providing insights to support decision-making and optimize operations. Proficiency in Excel and data cleansing techniques will be essential for this role. In addition the role supports data validation and invoice reconciliation whilst working with the finance team to process payables and manage accruals & month-end reporting.
About the Role
- Pricelist Comparison: Compare pricelists of roaming and interconnect partners from different sources. Identify variations in pricing structures, rates, and terms. Analyse the impact of changes and provide recommendations for competitive pricing strategies.
- Roaming Footprint Comparison: Compare footprints of sponsored roaming partners across carriers. Evaluate coverage areas, network capabilities (i.e. 4G/5G/LTE-M), and service availability. Identify gaps or overlaps and provide insights to optimise the roaming steering strategy.
- Rate Updates: Update carrier rates based on contract agreements and rate change notifications. Analyse rate changes and explain significant variations to stakeholders. Ensure accurate and up-to-date rate information for wholesale operations.
- Carrier Volume Files: Update the Carrier Volume File using data from core network elements (i.e. Session Border Controllers (SBC) and Managed Service Switches (MSS)). Consolidate and analyse volume information to track usage and performance. Identify anomalies or discrepancies and investigate root causes.
- Carrier Invoice Analysis: Update Carrier Volume with information obtained from carrier invoices. Validate invoice accuracy, reconcile volumes, and identify discrepancies. Provide recommendations for invoice processing improvements and cost optimisation.
- Invoice Validation: Validate Roaming partner invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract terms. Advise on accruals at the end of each month based on the invoice analysis and volume data.
- Footprint Database Updates: Maintain and update the Footprint Database with accurate and current information. Incorporate changes in network coverage, technology upgrades, and service expansions. Ensure the database reflects the latest information for decision-making.
- Network Information: Update and maintain information related to network technologies within the Footprint Database (3G/4G/5G/ Low Power Networks). Monitor network advancements and provide insights on the impact of technology transitions.
- Ad hoc Tasks: Support the Wholesale Team with ad hoc data analysis tasks as needed. This may include data cleansing, data transformation, preparing reports, or assisting with other data-related initiatives.
- Assist in month-end closing, including accruals.
Requirements
About You
- Degree in data management, data analytics or related field of study.
- Strong analytical and data management capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate, cleanse, and analyse large datasets.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint - Pivot Tables, Power Query, Index-Match or xlookup, conditional formatting, Sum Formula, and ability to create charts and graphs.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Highly organised, forthright, driven, energetic, proactive and able to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Fast learner on all fronts – work processes, relevant business applications etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify trends, patterns, and outliers.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, initiative, good judgement, adaptability to changing work environment, team work, stress tolerance and resilience.
