This position provides clinical support to Hospital Medical Services by setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.
Position Requirements- High School graduate or equivalent.
- At least one year of medical office experience and ability to communicate well
- Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.
- Office environment.
- Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, and operate a computer/keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.
- Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts
- Maintains current patient information
- Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the physician
- Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
- Maintains patient records
- Insures patients are informed of changes in office policies
- Scans patient paperwork/records
- Follows proper lifting techniques to prevent back injury
- Consistently verifies patient insurance information
- Follows scheduling instructions
- Consistently verifies insurance for eligibility and precertification if need
- Maintains open line of communication with all staff
- Answers phones politely and within 4 rings
