WGL - Lead Specialist, Internal Controls

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with planning, scoping, and risk assessment activities as needed.

· Gain a comprehensive understanding of the various business processes being evaluated.

· Independently lead projects to identify key controls that mitigate risk of material misstatement.

· Conduct risk assessments and assist in the development of control objectives and testing plans.

· Develop and maintain relevant documentation, including process flow diagrams.

· Support the creation of reports using Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate

· Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Program.

· Help design and implement initiatives that foster control ownership within the organization.

· Support the co-source in conducting assessments of design and operational effectiveness.

· Effectively document and communicate exceptions in accordance with internal guidance.

· Evaluate deficiencies as required and including drafting memos for aggregation.

· Work collaboratively with management to remediate deficiencies.

· Keep management apprised of testing status and escalate exceptions / key issues for review.

· Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

· Currently holding or actively pursuing a CPA, CIA, CISA, or an equivalent certification.

· 7+ years’ experience in SOX / CSOX with a strong understanding of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).

· Strong knowledge of governance, risk, and control frameworks is essential for this position.

· Understanding of IT general controls, automated and business controls.

· Ability to use Microsoft Visio, Access and Power Platforms.

· A desire to understand the systems and processes under review and Company operations, policies and procedures.

· Understanding of Midstream and/or Utilities industry policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Quick learner with excellent interpersonal and time management skills and is a team player who is highly motivated and detail oriented.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.

· Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel up to 15% (domestic and international

We offer a competitive salary range of $116,000 to $159,500 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
