This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Dune Deck Beach Club, set in Westhampton Beach, New York.
Dune Deck Beach Club is seeking a Well-Being Coordinator to join the Fitness & Wellness Department. This is a seasonal role from May to October 2026.
The Well-Being Coordinator provides excellent service to members and guests in the Fitness Center and Spa. In this role you will offer a thorough knowledge of fitness, wellness and Club services available and oversee that the implemented fitness programs/wellness activations are running smoothly. This person is responsible for daily operations of the Fitness Center/Spa and will oversee the spa operations and work closely with massage therapists, outside massage therapists and wellness vendors. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Promoting fitness classes and assist instructors with class set up and break down
• Maintain the fitness class schedule including updates, descriptions and changes as they become necessary.
• Assist and instruct members in the proper use of all exercises and weight equipment and monitor the weight room to ensure guest safety and comfort at all times.
• Work with Contract Instructors and Contract Personal Trainers as needed for fitness classes and personal training sessions.
• Prepare fitness department equipment and supplies daily, according to procedures.
• Resolve member complaints and be an ambassador of Dune Deck at all times on or off the property.
• Maintains the “Vibe” and culture of the club consistent with Dune Deck and Discovery standards.
• Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and organization for the Fitness Center.
• Staff schedule, payroll and end-of-day reports

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fitness, health, and wellness profession.
• Certified personal trainer certification accredited by NASM, NCCA, ISSA, or equivalent preferred. 
• Strong communication skills as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team 
• Experience in the Spa, Fitness, and Wellness industry and/or customer service role preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise techniques.
• Prefer candidate to be a certified personal trainer and/or certified group fitness instructor.
  • Certification Examples: Certified Functional Strength Coach, Certified Yoga Instructor, Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer, etc.
  • Certified Nutritional coaching highly desirable.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, running, moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, heavy lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling sometimes in excess of fifty (50) pounds.  
• Active proponent of health, fitness, and wellness.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
