The Digital Modernization Sector has an opening for a WebSphere Administrator / DevOps Engineer to work in Woodlawn, MD
This position requires onsite work in Woodlawn, MD five days a week.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, code, and implement next-generation deployment automation using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies:
- DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker).
- Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (UrbanCode Deploy, Ansible, Scripting).

Administer IBM WebSphere Application Server including installing, migrating, upgrading, deploying, troubleshooting, and configurating on Linux.

Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software deployment, application monitoring and performance tuning, Microservice architecture, container orchestration, security, or auto-scaling & application reliability engineering.

Work closely and collaboratively with a small tightly knit high performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads.

Investigate and repair application defects with development team regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling). Triage Java exceptions and tune JVM/application server.

Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience.

Foundation for Success (Required Qualifications):
This experience is the foundation a candidate needs to be successful in this position:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, OR a related field with 8 years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 6 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted/accepted in lieu of degree.

8+ years of experience with software development including deployment, automation, systems/application analysis and design.

3+ years of combined experience with Application Server Administration (One or more of the following: WebSphere Application Server and/or WebSphere Liberty).
-
2+ years of combined experience with UrbanCode Deploy.
-
1+ year of experience with Ansible automation.
-
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server administration in Linux.

Solid experience automating application deployments for WebSphere using IBM Urban Code Deploy.

Strong experience in automating tasks scripting languages like Shell, Python.

Experience developing build scripts using Apache Ant and Apache Maven.

Basic experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (One or more of the following: Ansible automation, CloudFormation and/or Terraform).

Basic knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.

Solid experience with version control software such as Git/Bitbucket.

Basic knowledge with Java EE, Java generics, and concurrent programming.

Self-sufficient, proactive, and detailed-oriented.

Showcase your knowledge of modern development using data streaming and event-based architecture through the following experience or skills:

Experience using Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.

Knowledge of IBM Content Manager administration.

AWS cloud certifications.

Solid experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker containers.

Solid experience with Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Cloud, Security, and Data).

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
