The Web Platform Architect is responsible for defining, structuring, and governing the application landscape making up the organization’s key web- and content platform. Examples of systems are Content Management System (CMS), Product Information Management (PIM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM).
This role combines technical expertise and functional design with product-thinking to drive a scalable multi-application landscape strategy, including maintaining a prioritized integration backlog, and delivering a long-term roadmap for seamless data and content flow across platforms.
The Web Platform Architect will be the application owner for Munters CMS suite and will partner closely with satellite application owners and development teams while engaging with business and group function stakeholders to ensure solutions are robust, secure, efficient, and aligned with business goals. The role has a key part in the Web Development Forum chaired by VP Digital Communications & Content.
Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Strategy & Architecture→ Develop and maintain the solution architecture for primarily Web Platform applications such as CMS, PIM, DAM, CRM, ensuring scalability, performance, and future readiness.
→ Define integration patterns, standards, and best practices (e.g., API-first, event-driven, data modelling).
→ Evaluate and recommend tools, middleware, and technologies to improve interoperability and automation.
→ Work with process owners and various business or group function stakeholders to understand requirements revolving the relevant application landscape and translate them into techno-functional solutions.
→ Partner with development teams (internal or external) to ensure implementations follow architectural designs.
→ Collaborate closely with application and product owners
→ Ability to design and govern cross-platform taxonomy and metadata models across CMS, PIM, and DAM environments to enable scalable content management and product information distribution.
Roadmap Ownership→ Own the delivery of web platform integrations roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business priorities, system evolution, and digital transformation goals.
→ Translate business needs into clear techno-functional solution initiatives with defined scope, dependencies, and expected value.
→ Communicate roadmap updates, timelines, and impacts to key stakeholders.
Backlog Management→ Maintain a prioritized development backlog, balancing technical improvements, new capabilities, and operational reliability.
→ Write clear, actionable backlog items such as user stories, functional requirements, and technical specifications, aiming to deliver business value.
→ Collaborate closely with application specialists & architects, and delivery teams to refine, sequence, and deliver backlog items.
Quality, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement→ Define integrations KPIs, monitoring rules, and error-handling processes to ensure high operational reliability and enable continuous improvement.
→ Responsible for the stability of the platform including the incident management process, combining internal forces with external supplier services
→ Conduct technical reviews and ensure solution alignment with architectural guidelines and security standards.
→ Collaborate with IT security, infrastructure, and the integrations engineering team on compliance and performance considerations.
Qualifications→ Strong experience designing digital business solutions including integrations across the CMS/PIM/DAM/CRM application landscape.
→ Documented expertise in API architecture, REST/GraphQL, middleware, iPaaS platforms, and event-driven systems.
→ Understanding of content/data models and how they propagate through enterprise applications.
→ Experience with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira) and agile methodologies.
→ Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
→ Experienced in ITSM processes and an understanding of IT audit requirements
→ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically while delivering hands‑on solutions.
