Web Engineer - Music

On the music industry side of Spotify - the Music Mission - we think of ourselves as the software layer of the new music industry. We serve the artists, distributors, labels and publishers that make up our industry. Our mission is to build tools to help these teams get insights, reach new listeners, and deepen the connection with their audience.

We are looking for a web engineer with experience building data intensive applications to join the squad, a team dedicated to supporting artists by providing tools to build and distribute their video catalog as well as analyze its performance.

What You'll Do

• Work with our team building Web Application UI and views for our Music Video and Canvas tools in our artist platform, Spotify for Artists
• Work with externals teams when needed to deliver consumer video experiences in the Spotify consumer application
• Work closely with product, insights, design and other web engineers to understand the needs our of external customers and internal partners
• Deliver scalable, testable, maintainable, and high-quality code

Who You Are

• You have proven experience in Web Development
• You know how to build user-friendly, data-rich JavaScript(React)/HTML/CSS/Typescript applications
• You are experienced with modern testing, debugging and automation techniques
• You have a working understanding of object-oriented and functional programming paradigms
• Care about software architecture across the front-end, back-end, and the APIs gluing them together
• You care about UX and building responsive, user-friendly web applications
• Comfortable working in an agile environment and challenging yourself and your team to improve their ways of working

Where You'll Be

• We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the EST time zone as long as we have a work location. 

The United States base range for this position is $122,716 -$175,308 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance. These ranges may be modified in the future.
