Web Engineer - Acquire

You will work in the Grow & Engage domain. This is the heart of the customer experience ranging from the acquisition and signup to our premium membership tiers and the daily engagement of our users. You will work in teams delivering the newest and most innovative features serving our customers in the best way possible.

We are looking for a talented Web engineer in Berlin to work with highly motivated teams with the vision to enable growth at scale by providing a seamless onboarding experience that removes barriers to banking.

As a Web Engineer, you will build and continually improve the N26 website crucial in attracting customers and compelling them to start the onboarding flows. You will be encouraged to embrace the latest technological updates and given a platform to work on complex, interesting problems on a daily basis while working with super cool and smart people.

In this role, you will:

• Craft high-performance web experience using modern unified tech stack with the main components being Express, React, React-router(formerly Remix), GraphQL, design system with Tailwind CSS to name just a few, making sure our website is as smooth as our banking experience.
• You will collaborate with other talented web engineers to proactively improve the Web tech stack and ensure high quality coding standards.
• Contribute to our extensive documentation and our testing suite (unit testing with Jest, accessibility checks, end-to-end testing with Playwright).
• Work your magic with Contentful (or other CMS tools), transforming structured content into engaging, scalable pages that don’t break under pressure.
• Optimize for speed, SEO, and accessibility – because every millisecond counts, and everyone should enjoy our website.
• Partner with designers, marketers, and product managers to ensure our website is not just functional but a beauty to behold.

What you need to be successful:

• You have been exposed to working in cross-functional teams and you enjoy working with a product-oriented team, developing technical solutions that are appealing to end-users.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and extensive experience with APIs using GraphQL or REST.
• You are comfortable working with Contentful or other headless CMS platforms. 
• Experience in developing high quality accessible applications (WCAG 2.1) with semantic markup.
• Technical SEO implementation know-how: meta tags, structured data, and site indexing don’t scare you.
• You know your way around Lighthouse scores and Core Web Vitals. Bonus points if you have explored bundling strategies with Vite.
• Foster a culture of excellence by reviewing code, and sharing knowledge.
• Engage in team discussions, explaining your solutions clearly while welcoming feedback and collaboration.

Bonus Points if You:

• Have experience building with React-router (Remix) for multi-market websites.
• Have a mild obsession for clean code.
