GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Sabre seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist with the implementation of diverse web development projects. This role is a mix of collaboration, strategy, full stack development, and UX with design as a plus. The primary focus of the web development Intern role will build, support and help execute a variety of digital projects related to sabre.com and other internal digital tools that empower global team members. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of digital communications programs while working in a casual, yet fast-paced, hybrid work environment. Reporting to the Principal Web Development team lead, this internship role will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and help turn every visitor into a prospect and advocate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The core responsibilities of this role are as follows, but not limited to:
- Meet with internal stakeholder teams to discuss the needs, design, and functionality needed for the website or landing pages.
- Create and test applications, interfaces, and navigation menus
- Conceptualize, design, and develop internal automated software and web applications for simplifying workflows and enabling employee engagement with minimal human intervention.
- Perform technical analyses for development of new features.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, test, ensure browser compatibility, and deploy source code updates/changes.
- Develop and maintain a custom in-house WordPress theme for use on corporate websites and blogs and other in-house tools.
EDUCATION:
- Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, computer information systems, or web/digital design.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Comfortable with modern JavaScript front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc…)
- Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL is a plus
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Keen attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
- Have a friendly and helpful customer service attitude
- An engaging personality; loves to collaborate and have fun!
