As our Web Developer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the experience on Knix's web platforms. You’ll work closely with our product management and integrations teams to fully understand and bring to life business requirements, designing, developing, and documenting essential customer interactions on our site. This involves working with existing code and functionalities, designing robust solutions that align with Knix’s coding standards, and applying SOLID principles to deliver high-quality solutions. You’ll be responsible for unit testing your work and collaborating with the QA team to ensure everything is flawless before launch.

You’ll also contribute to team success by sharing knowledge and supporting junior developers through code reviews and design feedback. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for documenting integrations and data mappings, ensuring a smooth and well-documented development process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in web development and guide the team.
  • Review business requirements to create user-centered, efficient web interactions.
  • Collaborate with the integrations team to design scalable, flexible solutions.
  • Occasionally work with databases to extend website functionality.
  • Participate in Knix’s agile process (standups, sprint planning, etc.).
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing and code review processes.
  • Manage feature and bug tickets from concept through deployment.
  • Partner with the QA team to ensure thorough testing and high-quality outcomes.
  • Attend regular meetings to align on goals and updates.

Qualifications

  • 3-4+ years of experience in software development using React.js, JavaScript, and Node.js; experience with GraphQL is a plus.
  • 4+ years of database experience (MySQL or MSSQL).
  • 3+ years working with REST APIs.
  • Experience with third-party PaaS solutions such as MS Azure or AWS.
  • Adaptable, organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed in high-pressure, high-production settings.
  • Clear communicator with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Bonus: Experience in a retail startup and/or with Shopify storefronts and APIs.
