As a Web Developer supporting the VA's National Training and Support Program (NTSP) Quality and Data Informatics initiative, you will design, develop, modernize, and maintain SharePoint, Internet, and Intranet websites that serve VA staff, stakeholders, and Veterans across the federal healthcare ecosystem. You will play a critical role in ensuring digital content is accessible, compliant, and performant in alignment with VA standards and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-directed web developer who thrives in a structured federal contracting environment and takes pride in delivering inclusive, Section 508-compliant digital experiences that support the VA mission.
Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, modernize, and maintain SharePoint, Internet, and Intranet websites in support of NTSP program operations and VA stakeholder needs. Conduct comprehensive website assessments and develop management plans, design templates, and visual mockups to guide site development and continuous improvement. Establish and maintain website user groups and access permissions, ensuring appropriate role-based controls and governance in alignment with VA security policies. Perform website coding and prepare digital content for posting in full compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards, the VA Style Guide, and applicable copyright and release documentation requirements. Monitor and report on website performance across accessibility, quality assurance, and search engine optimization (SEO) dimensions, implementing improvements as needed. Support the structured transition of website maintenance responsibilities to Government personnel at task order conclusion, including documentation, knowledge transfer sessions, and handoff materials.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum of 4 years of relevant web development experience, including design, development, and maintenance of SharePoint and web-based platforms (a BA/BS degree may be substituted with 7 total years of relevant experience). BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field required; 3 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Prior experience working with federal agencies, VA programs, or other government healthcare clients strongly preferred; familiarity with VA digital standards and federal web governance frameworks is a plus. Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential and successfully complete a VA background investigation as required for system access. Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position does not offer visa sponsorship. Demonstrated proficiency with Section 508 accessibility standards, web content management best practices, and the ability to produce compliant, VA Style Guide–aligned digital content.
Desired Qualifications• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools including Power Automate and PowerApps for workflow automation and low-code application development in a federal environment. • Proficiency with data and reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, SSMS, Azure Data Studio, TOAD, SSIS, and/or SSRS to support data-informed web and informatics solutions. • Familiarity with Python scripting for automation, data processing, or web-related tasks within a VA or federal healthcare context. • Prior experience supporting knowledge transfer and website transition activities at the conclusion of a federal task order or contract period of performance. • Understanding of VA or federal health informatics data standards and how web platforms support quality and data-driven program reporting.
