Join our team of innovative and creative digital content writers! Your contribution as a Web Content Writer relies on your in-depth technical experience in, and knowledge of, written communication for the web. This includes helping define content strategies and architectures, applying search engine-based methodologies, writing and editing sophisticated original copy, and analyzing results to ensure their efficiency. You'll also lead content optimization projects, assist in broader initiatives, and be our team's local guide for standard methodologies for optimization as we implement new workflows and processes throughout the business.
Job dutiesThe ideal candidate will:
- Perform keyword research to find opportunities to drive qualified traffic to the website
- Identify duplicate content, optimize content hierarchies, propose outlines, and develop content to present information in the clearest and most logical way to our customers
- Peer review content from other copywriters and mentor junior team members
- Work closely with internal partners to incorporate subject-matter-expert feedback and acquire approvals throughout the content revision process
- Build and nurture positive relationships with SEO experts, BU content writers, marketing managers, and with members of the web production and corporate digital content teams
- Analyze, track and report on the performance of the content initiatives
- May perform additional duties as required
- Bachelor's degree in biology or related life science field; advanced degree or PhD preferred
- Proven experience as a post doctoral researcher, product manager, marketing, inside sales, technical support, or research and development in a life sciences field
- Experience writing scientific or technical marketing content preferred
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment in a large organization preferred
- Knowledge of SEO standard methodologies using tools including Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, SEMRush, and others preferred
- Knowledge of online user experience, taxonomy and tagging, information architecture, content marketing, digital marketing, analytics, and testing preferred
- Keen attention to detail, and a high regard for quality
- Outstanding writing, grammar, and proofreading skills and sophisticated knowledge of English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation, language usage, audience sensitivity) and scientific content types
- Excellent interpersonal skills – written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to establish relationships, influence others and work effectively with colleagues across multiple locations and departments
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects to completion
- Passion to stay on top of news and trends in SEO and digital marketing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
