Job Description

We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of web, mobile, and backend applications. This role requires hands-on experience in automation testing, API testing, and CI/CD integration, while also supporting manual testing when needed. The Automation Test Engineer will collaborate closely with Developers, QA Leads, Product Managers, and DevOps Engineers in an Agile environment to deliver defect-free and high-performing products. This position will be full-time and onsite from Bengaluru.

What You'll Do:

Test Planning & Design

• Analyze requirements and define automation scope, strategy, and tools to be used.
• Create and maintain detailed test cases, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices.
• Ensure test coverage across functional, regression, and integration scenarios.

Test Automation Development & Execution

• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright, TestNG, Cucumber similar tools.
• Automate UI, API, and database validation test scenarios.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
• Conduct regular automation suite maintenance to ensure stability and reliability.

Functional & Non-Functional Testing

• Execute automated and manual tests for new features and regression cycles.
• Perform API automation using Rest Assured or similar tools.
• Support performance testing using tools like JMeter (basic to intermediate).

Technology Exposure Required

• Test Automation Frameworks & Tools: Playwright, TestNG.
• CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins
• API Automation: Postman Collections, Newman CLI.
• Version Control Systems: Git, Bitbucket.
• Performance Testing Tools: JMeter
• Collaboration & Test Management Tools: JIRA, Testrail, Confluence.

Defect Management & Reporting

• Log and manage defects using JIRA or similar tools.
• Work with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve automation and product issues.
• Provide automation coverage reports and execution dashboards.

What You'll Need:

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Mandatory).
• ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer certification (Preferred).

Relevant Experience:

• 4–7 years of experience in automation testing for web, mobile, and API services.
• Strong hands-on experience in Playwright, JavaScript, TestNG, Cucumber BDD.
• Experience with API automation (Rest Assured, Postman scripts).
• Good knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (Git).
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter) is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and shift-left testing practices.
• Experience in working with SQL for database verification.
