W&D Strategy and Capability Manager CEE
About the role
The Warehousing & Distribution Coordinator/ Project Manager is an important role focused on shaping the future of our Warehousing & Distribution (W&D) operations across the Central & Eastern Europe Business Unit (CEE BU). This mid-senior Manager position involves analyzing current warehouse network and logistics flows assessing capabilities and leading improvement initiatives. The role requires a forward-thinking, capability to analyze data and processes, and to optimize the logistics infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the logistics strategy, leading change management, and ensuring successful implementation of warehouse-related projects. She/he will collaborate closely with the W&D Operations and multiple functions, contributing to the development and implementation of a robust strategy and capabilities roadmap.
This role reports to the Lead of CEE W&D and Export QSC.
Key Responsibilities, Strategic and Operational

Data and KPIs:
-
Analyze data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and provide recommendations for improvement in warehousing and distribution network or processes.

Create a set of operational KPIs to review the success of logistics initiatives.

Team capability and know how:
-
Mentor local warehouse functions and operational teams to enhance their capabilities and efficiency.
-
Connect teams to assess and implement the best practices in W&D operations, focusing on productivity, cost reduction, process standardization, and regular audits.

Advice on warehouse-related projects and system simplification and development initiatives (e.g. WMS, FLTs, Picking solutions, Racks, MHE, etc.).

Develop and implement standards, including customer requirements/SLAs, HSE coordination across the central Logistics team, CSR initiatives, adherence to legislation, and ISO certification.

Projects and budgets management:
-
Develop strategic roadmaps for W&D transformation initiatives, such as relocations and optimization projects including the potential introduction of new technologies and continuous improvement programs.

Contribute to the financial strategy/framework, managing budgets, CAPEX planning, and participating in business reviews.

Prepare and calculate business cases for proposed changes and optimizations.

Tendering and negotiation process: Provide consulting input on contracts, tenders, and negotiations, collaborating closely with procurement and legal teams.

Network study: Run network studies to evaluate different warehousing scenarios and locations.

Analyze current W&D networks, flows, and capabilities across markets, benchmarking against external standards.

Lead strategic development discussions related to the W&D network, interfacing with other functions, and identifying opportunities for integration with distribution, transportation, and planning.

Lead warehouse relocation projects, coordinating efforts to ensure a seamless transition.

Organizational Interactions

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Procurement, and Finance, to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.

Engage with external partners, such as 3PL providers, to optimize collaborative efforts and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Lead discussion with stakeholders and approval process.
Why you?Basic Qualifications:

University degree in business or engineering (preferred SCM and/or logistics)
-
Good understanding of warehouse operations, including processes and IT (WMS and other logistics technologies)

Experience in logistics and supply chain optimization projects; warehouse network design studies and relocation projects an advantage.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex projects.
-
Proven track record of successfully implementing logistics initiatives in the FMCG or Pharmaceutical industry, preferably on international projects.
-
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions, capability to work in a highly complex environment.

Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at various levels.

Mature business understanding, perspectives, and knowledge of industrial best practices.

Proficiency in English, additional languages an advantage (e.g., Russian, Polish, Czech, or Hungarian)
