POSITION TITLE: Wax Puller Production
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
LOCATION: Salinas
Pay Range: $19.00 -21.00
Summary Assists with set up and operation of wax cascade machine to coat corrugated containers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Feeders:
Responsible for checking the quality of the box, removing any bad print, delamination, bad glue joints, damaged boxes or bad colors.
Ensure boxes are fed in the correct direction in order to correctly plug the flutes with wax.
Pullers:
Responsible for pulling boxes from machine, checking that flutes have been properly plugged, wax coverage percentage looks correct and also checks for overall quality of the finished box.
Stacks boxes in properly counted bundles as per job order and ensures bundles are squared up prior to strapping.
Stackers:
Verify bundles are correct count and stacked squarely prior to moving to strapping machine.
Attaches proper load tags to units and puts dunnage on pallets and v-boards/tie sheets on bundles to properly protect the loads.
All Positions:
Maximize utilization of machine by operating at available capacity and speed while minimizing waste of wax.
Responsible for cross-training on all positions; Feeder, Puller and Stacker job positions by switching duties as needed to provide needed training.
May assist with necessary reports in a neat, accurate and timely manner which may include but are not limited to: Production, Safety and Quality Data, Machine Operational Status and Maintenance Work Orders.
Maintain equipment proactively, turns in maintenance work orders for repairs to Supervisor in a timely manner and follows up that repairs have been made.
Adhere to daily production schedule, reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor and makes recommendations for optimizing schedules to meet cost, quality, delivery and customer service goals.
Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and good housekeeping.
Follow corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
