The Wave Planner ensures timely order fulfillment by organizing and releasing work (waves) to the warehouse floor. This role coordinates order picking based on priority, labor, inventory, and shipping deadlines to maximize efficiency and service. What You Will Do
- Wave Management:
- Develop wave release strategy based on cut-off times, order priority, and labor.
- Release, monitor, and adjust waves using the Warehouse Management System.
- Prioritize orders based on SLA requirements, customer criteria, and transportation schedules.
- Coordinate with supervisors to ensure labor and equipment align with plans.
- System and Data Analysis:
- Maintain logs of wave activities and report on performance, accuracy, and throughput.
- Monitor warehouse systems for efficiency and provide system feedback.
- Report, investigate, and fix system issues.
- Operations Coordination:
- Act as liaison between planning, operations, inventory control, and shipping teams.
- Notify teams of high-priority orders, short picks, and system issues.
- Collaborate with inventory control to resolve discrepancies.
- Shipment Planning:
- Plan waves for nightly bulk plan, maximizing shipment consolidation.
- Coordinate with yard jokey on moving trailers to dock doors and assigning door numbers to shipments.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Report on daily KPIs and run root cause analysis for missed SLAs.
- Recommend improvements to wave planning logic and order routing processes.
What You Will Bring
- Education: High school diploma required; college degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years in operations planning, warehouse, or logistics. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including picking, packing, inventory, and shipping processes.
- Systems Expertise: WMS platforms such as Manhattan, SAP, or Oracle. TMS platforms such as Oracle or 3G. ERP platforms such as Oracle, Sage, or SAP.
- Skills: Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, and time management skills.

Compensation: The expected base pay range for this role is $28- $34 an hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
