Senior Waterpark Manager  


Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Senior Waterpark Manager. In this role, your focus will be to ensure safety, enhance sales, streamline operations, all while elevating guest satisfaction. You’ll oversee the entirety of Waterpark Operations alongside the Waterpark Assistant Director and Waterpark Director.

By driving operational excellence, coaching associates, and maintaining the highest safety standards, you’ll help create unforgettable memories for every family who visits Kalahari.

 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Manage guest surveys and complaints in a professional and timely manner, coordinating distribution to managers and escalating severe issues.
  • Open and close the park when scheduled and test rides for the day.
  • Hire, train, and coach staff, while serving as a mentor to those early in their career.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by guests, associates, supervisors, department heads and senior management.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Capable of making independent decisions while maintaining strong ethical standards consistent with company policy, rules, and the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment that is constantly changing.

 

What We’re Looking For  

  • At least 3 years of experience in operations/management of a large aquatic facility.
  • Knowledge of waterparks and ride operations is required.
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel, resort, waterpark, or related field; or a 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related experience.
  • SGE Instructor Certification, Red Cross Certified Instructor, or Ellis Instructor Certification status required.
  • Must be well-organized and have proven ability to lead and direct people.
  • Knowledge of computer skills such as Word and Excel is required.
  • Certified Pool Operator Certification is preferred.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to frequently move throughout the waterpark.
  • Must be able to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This is a full-time position, with various work hours and days, based on business needs. This position regularly requires evening and weekend work.

 

Work Environment

  • This job operates in an active and noisy environment. There are frequent changes in the environment’s temperature.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
