Job Description

AECOM’s Water Business Line is looking for a passionate and experienced Wastewater Treatment Project Manager to lead exciting municipal projects in Fort Myers, Florida. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and want to take your career to the next level, this is the opportunity for you! 

Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead impactful projects – Manage the design and development of municipal pumping stations, and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Drive project success – Oversee scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Build client relationships – Identify new business opportunities and represent AECOM in client meetings and industry events.
  • Guide & mentor teams – Supervise technical professionals and junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Expand AECOM’s influence – Participate in contract negotiations, prepare technical reports, and contribute to marketing efforts within the region.
  • Be a thought leader – Stay engaged with industry trends and actively participate in professional societies.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Proven track record in municipal water/wastewater treatment design and project management
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in water conveyance, pumping systems and treatment processes
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams, engaging clients and delivering successful projects.
  • Experience in business development with identifying new opportunities and expanding service capabilities
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of Project Management Experience.
  • Experience and familiarity with the following programs: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD.
  • Experience working with local clients in Florida.
  • Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
