Responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, inventory control, movement, packaging, and shipment of materials, components, and finished goods. Ensures the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintains inventory records, supports production through material kitting and order fulfillment, and coordinates shipping activities in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Operates material handling equipment, maintains a safe and organized work environment, and supports continuous operational excellence within the warehouse and shipping/receiving functions.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming materials, components, and finished goods from suppliers, customers, and internal facilities.
- Compare shipments against purchase orders, bill of lading, packing slips, invoices, and other documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Stock, store, and issue materials for production, maintenance, and other departments as required.
- Prepare component kits, stage materials for production, and fulfill internal and external orders.
- Pick, pack, crate, label, and prepare products and materials for domestic and international shipment.
- Determine appropriate shipping methods and coordinate shipments using established carrier procedures, routes, and rates.
- Generate and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipment records, weights, and freight charges.
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure packaging, labeling, and documentation meet customer and company requirements.
- Identify, document, and coordinate resolution of damaged, defective, or short shipments with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions and records within the ERP system and perform routine cycle counts.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of shipping, packaging, and warehouse supplies.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Support warehouse organization, housekeeping, and 5S initiatives to maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements, and actively promote a safety-first culture.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse, inventory, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, shipping documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory transactions, and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier requirements, and material handling practices.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory control, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Work environment is fast-paced and may involve continuous movement, noise, and varying warehouse conditions.
- Position is designated as safety sensitive.
