We are looking for experienced VR Unity Developers with a strong background in Virtual Reality (VR), particularly those familiar with Igloo Vision, to create engaging educational programs for universities. Fluency in French is a bonus.
What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate within small, autonomous teams in a high-ownership environment.
  • Develop multiple projects, delivering high-quality and interactive educational experiences within deadlines.
  • Work closely with developers, designers, and artists to enhance all aspects of the experience—ranging from XR functionalities to UI elements, animations, audio, physics, and rendering.
  • Generate ideas for improving functionality and overall user experience.
  • Solve technical challenges creatively, optimizing builds across platforms (PC, mobile, web, VR).


Who You Are:

  • You have 5+ years of industry experience working with Unity or similar platforms.
  • A strong coder, passionate about programming with excellent C# skills.
  • Familiar with SOLID principles and best coding practices.
  • Experienced in an Agile development environment.
  • Skilled in VR/MR/AR development, ideally with Meta Quest 3 experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the technical aspects of software development—UI, rendering, user interaction, and more.
  • Experienced in using source control (PlasticSCM, Unity Collab, Git) and handling source code efficiently.
  • Capable of integrating external plugins, APIs, and libraries.
  • Able to troubleshoot complex issues across various technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing and optimizing Unity builds for VR and other platforms.
  • Adaptable, with a proven ability to handle changing requirements and solve bugs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Requirements
Must Haves:

  • Solid experience with Unity3D and VR.
  • Strong competency in C# and understanding of real-time rendering.
  • Experience with Igloo Vision.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality educational products.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, technologies, and platform requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.


Nice to Have:

  • Fluency in French.
  • Experience with Meta Quest 3.
  • Background in developing educational software.
  • Experience with Unity render pipelines and shaders (HLSL/ShaderLab).
  • Familiarity with networking or multiplayer development.
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in RESTful APIs and creating Unity Assets.
  • Exposure to QA processes, providing insights for improvement.
  • Expertise in educational content creation—leveraging VR for enhanced learning.

Location: This position is 100% remote; however, only candidates based in Canada and with Canadian Citizenship or PR will be considered. Some regional travel may be required to meet with the client and fulfill business needs.
While Aequilibrium is a remote-first company, we host in-person social events and team-building activities. 
Compensation: CAD $90K—$120K annually, commensurate with skills and experience.
