Job Description
The Derivatives Processing Executive will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing and settlement of derivatives transactions, ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end processing of various derivatives products, including but not limited to FX options, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, and futures.
- Ensure accurate trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation of derivatives transactions.
- Monitor and resolve trade breaks, discrepancies, and settlement issues in a timely manner, liaising with front office, counterparties, and other internal departments as needed.
- Perform daily reconciliation of derivatives positions, cash flows, and collateral.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of derivatives processing workflows and systems.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, FATCA) and internal policies.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for system enhancements and new product implementations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members as required.
- Identify and escalate potential risks and control weaknesses within the derivatives processing function.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in derivatives operations or processing within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of various derivatives products and their lifecycle.
- Proficiency in financial systems and reconciliation tools.
- Solid knowledge of SWIFT messaging and market practices for derivatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with regulatory reporting for derivatives is a plus.
