The Role

Job Description SummaryAs the VP of Technology at SATAVIA, you will be in charge of aligning business strategy with the technology roadmap and software solutions in our mission to provide the leading operational contrails mitigation solution for the aviation industry. SATAVIA is part of Aerospace Carbon Solutions, a GE Aerospace business focused on more sustainable growth in aviation.
You will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to drive the next generation of SATAVIA’s software architecture. Working closely with other technology leaders across GE Aerospace, you will drive the creation of modular and scalable software that addresses current needs and anticipate future challenges. Your role will be crucial in fostering a culture of innovation, agile development, and technical excellence as the leader of our technical staff.

  • Translate business strategy into technology strategy, ensuring alignment of platform requirements with the product roadmap and customer needs, including security and reliability etc.
  • Define product architecture, balancing the need for speed with performance, accuracy, and scalability to meet the evolving demands of airline customers.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap that supports the product strategy, incorporating long-term R&D initiatives in close collaboration with Product leader.
  • Lead the selection and management of technology vendors, suppliers, and partners to support the company's mission in aviation decarbonization.
  • Oversee and personally contribute to the infrastructure, standards, and security needs of the organization, ensuring robust and compliant systems.
  • Drive R&D efforts, focusing on newer models, technology horizon planning, and innovation in AI/ML for environmental impact assessment and mitigation.
  • Provide technical leadership in implementing software engineering best practices, including test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated deployment.
  • Lead and mentor technology teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Ensure timely adoption of new technologies relevant to aviation sustainability, through research and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with transformation teams to develop flexible, responsive, and scalable cost improvement ideas and new product lines.
  • Constantly seek out opportunities to optimize technical solutions, challenging the status quo to drive innovation in aviation software.
