Flex splits your rent, and rent-associated costs, into smaller, stress-free payments throughout the month.
The Role

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2026 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About The Role

As a senior leader reporting directly to the CFO, you will drive high-impact projects that have company-wide impact across Flex. You will be directly leading the Strategic Finance team, a critical department that drives financial predictability, ROI maximization, and informed strategic decision-making across the organization. You will be serving as the connective tissue between internal business operations and key internal and external stakeholders - including the executive leadership team, board of directors, and investors - to ensure alignment between financial outcomes and company strategy. This position is ideal for a seasoned Finance professional who excels in big-picture strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and process optimization.

This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

Strategic Finance & Decision Support

  • Partner with the leadership team to evaluate strategic opportunities, including new product launches, pricing strategies, and M&A
  • Lead investment case development and performance tracking for growth initiatives
  • Design and deliver board- and investor-level analyses, presentations, and insights

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own the annual operating plan, forecasting cadence, long-range planning, and scenario modeling
  • Develop frameworks for unit economics, contribution margins, and ROI analysis across business initiatives
  • Build and continuously refine models and reporting to drive financial predictability and accountability

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Collaborate with Accounting and Data teams to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable financial reporting
  • Enhance operating rhythm through consistent KPIs, dashboards, and variance analytics
  • Support capital planning, fundraising, and investor relations initiatives in partnership with the CFO
Key Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, and/or investment roles within high-growth technology, fintech, or financial services environments
  • Proven leadership experience - scaling and developing finance teams and systems
  • Deep modeling, analytics, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with C-suite executives and influence decision-making
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of crafting board and investor-ready materials
  • Experience in venture-backed, growth-stage, or public company environments is a plus
  • Desire for a fast-paced, hands-on, entrepreneurial environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
