Job Description:
The VP, Strategic Business Development will play a critical role in driving NextGen’s strategic growth initiatives. This leader will identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships to enhance NextGen’s market position, realize new opportunities for commercial value creation, and accelerate our growth strategy.- Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic partnerships.
- Manage all aspects of the deal execution process, ensuring a thorough and efficient evaluation and coordinated process involving key stakeholders internally.
- Engage with and act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders to understand their strategic priorities and connect those priorities to external partnership opportunities.
- Demonstrate thought leadership to develop innovative strategies for new commercial opportunities via strategic partnerships.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to guide product development and future strategic investments.
- Perform financial analysis in support of business development opportunities.
- Clearly and concisely convey key findings of complex analysis, explain rationale for new strategic Initiatives, and serve as an effective thought partner with the senior team across a broad range of issues.
- Work closely with the executive team to refine business models, pricing strategies, and commercial approaches.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and with prospective partners.
- Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Advanced degree (MBA or related) preferred.
- Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, M&A, or commercialization roles.
- Proven track record of successfully structuring and closing strategic partnership transactions with tangible commercial outcomes.
- Experience navigating the legal, privacy, and compliance considerations involved in healthcare partnerships.
