Summary:
In this role, you will serve as the enterprise leader for Vizient’s supply chain operational delivery platform, unifying execution, technology enablement, and strategic advisory services into a single, scalable national model. Reporting to the Senior Vice President/General Manager, Spend Management Services, this executive will drive performance excellence across the full scope of supply chain operations—including inventory management, distribution, logistics, systems integration, and materials management—while advancing digital, data-driven operating capabilities that elevate efficiency and standardization across Vizient-managed services. This role is accountable for transforming operational best practices into a national center of expertise that improves client outcomes, optimizes cost structures, and strengthens alignment between field operations and enterprise strategy.
Responsibilities:
Operational Strategy & Enterprise Integration
Lead the development of a national operations delivery model that integrates logistics, materials management, and systems enablement into a unified, scalable structure.
Translate strategic objectives into operational standards, playbooks, and service delivery models that drive measurable client performance and internal efficiency.
Collaborate with leaders across the National Centers (Sourcing, Assessment & Value Analysis, and Procurement) to ensure end-to-end supply chain continuity and enterprise alignment.
Partner with the Procure-to-Pay and digital transformation teams to enable automation, visibility, and analytics across supply chain operations.
Supply Chain Execution Excellence
Oversee operational execution across warehouse, distribution, and in-hospital logistics, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and inventory control standards.
Implement Lean methodologies and resiliency strategies to reduce waste, improve service levels, and standardize processes across client sites.
Direct optimization of replenishment strategies, PAR/POU management, and inventory technologies to enhance availability and working capital performance.
Guide strategic partnerships and vendor relationships to expand service capability and scalability.
Technology & Systems Enablement
Lead integration and advancement of ERP, MMIS, and other supply chain technology platforms critical to operations.
Ensure data integrity, automation, and systems interoperability that support predictive analytics and AI-driven decision-making.
Drive digital roadmap execution in collaboration with Tech & Data leadership to enhance transparency, performance tracking, and decision support.
Performance, Governance & Measurement
Define and oversee KPIs that measure operational efficiency, client outcomes, cost savings, and delivery quality.
Establish governance mechanisms to ensure consistency, accountability, and performance visibility across all operational engagements.
Partner with Finance and Analytics to build performance dashboards and benchmarks that support strategic planning and operational improvement.
Leadership & Talent Development
Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of logistics, operations, systems, and analytics professionals capable of delivering scalable managed services.
Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with Vizient’s mission and transformation objectives.
Serve as executive sponsor for leadership development and workforce optimization within the NOC.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) desired.
15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare supply chain operations, logistics, or managed services.
Proven success in designing and leading large-scale operational transformations in complex, matrixed organizations.
Deep understanding of ERP/MMIS systems, digital supply chain technologies, and operational analytics.
Demonstrated experience integrating process excellence, automation, and strategic advisory into scalable service models.
Strong financial and operational acumen with experience managing multi-site or enterprise-wide P&L accountability.
Skilled communicator with the ability to influence across executive, operational, and client-facing teams.
Ability to travel as needed.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $187,800.00 to $348,300.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
