What You’ll Do:

Our strategy team uncovers the interesting connections across culture, content, creators and commerce, that help brands succeed in a social-first world. We’re looking for a sharp, forward-thinking social and influencer leader to join our team as VP, Social Strategy Director.

You’ll lead the social and influencer strategy for a flagship client, acting as the senior strategic owner of their social-first ecosystem. You’ll build and guide a connected system across paid, owned, and creator that drives real business growth. You’ll lead a dedicated team to ensure excellent work from listening to insight to activation to performance, ensuring our work doesn’t just show up in social culture, but moves the business. You’ll be the connective tissue across social, influencer, and paid media, and a trusted partner to senior client stakeholders. You’ll also help shape how Blue Hour continues to define and evolve our approach.  

Strategy

  • Own the end-to-end social and influencer strategy for a key client, from listening and insight to content, creators, activation, and analytics.
  • Define how the brand wins on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and what’s next, with a clear POV on the role each plays.
  • Articulate insights from social, cultural, and conversational trends, translating observations into clear implications and strategic recommendations.
  • Connect paid, owned, and influencer into one cohesive system, partnering closely with paid social, creative, and account leads to ensure ideas scale and perform.
  • Build a social ecosystem that grows audiences, drives engagement, and converts attention into demand.
  • Use social listening, platform signals, and data to spot opportunities early and stay ahead of the category.
  • Set clear KPIs and measurement frameworks, tying social performance to real business impact.

Leadership & Thought Leadership

  • Lead and elevate a dedicated team of social strategists supporting the client, setting the standard for social-first thinking and execution.
  • Build a culture of curiosity, platform fluency, and experimentation across the team.
  • Act as a senior strategic partner to client leadership, helping them move smarter and faster. 
  • Stay ahead of evolving audience behaviors, platform dynamics, and cultural shifts, bringing that perspective into everything we do.
  • Partner seamlessly with creative, account, influencer, and paid teams to deliver integrated work.

  • ​​You’re a compelling storyteller who can turn complex insights into clear narratives, and have been complimented unironically for your deck making abilities. 
  • You connect dots in unexpected ways and push beyond safe, formulaic thinking.
  • You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can confidently influence others. 
  • Account leads and senior clients say you’re their favorite strategist. 

Additional Requirements:

  • 10–12+ years of experience in social strategy, with deep expertise in social and influencer.
  • Proven experience delivering effective social-first campaigns for large, well-known brands.
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience presenting to and consulting senior clients.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to build clear, compelling narratives.
  • Strong understanding of paid media and how it integrates with social and influencer.

Salary Range

$190,000.00 - $240,000.00

A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual’s skill sets, experience, training, education,  licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.  As an organization, we take an aptitude and competency-based hiring approach.  We provide a competitive total rewards package including a discretionary bonus and a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, company paid holidays and unlimited paid time off (PTO), mental health and wellness resources, pet insurance, childcare resources, identity theft insurance, fertility assistance programs, and fitness reimbursement.
