Job Summary: We are looking for a VP- Senior Client Manager that is proficient and confident in their abilities as a Technical Lead as well as a strong facilitator/manager of workflows, especially with experience in mission critical type projects in sectors such as data centers, defense, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, etc. This role will operate as a primary point of contact for selected large-scale key clients in the Federal / Mission Critical Division and influence across other business units within the overall Salas O’Brien network, working on a day-to-day basis with a core group of mixed discipline teams to deliver projects that meet the objectives of the clients. As the VP of the Chattanooga office (remote start), the candidate would be the primary lead for early project development and strategically navigate complex problems with clients and keep them satisfied while creating opportunities for repeat work. Additional focus areas of this role will be client mission support and technical project management on high profile projects. There will also be expectations to work with other managers/leaders in developing action plans to solicit and secure new work, implement new goals, objectives, and priorities for the broader Salas O’Brien network, identifying prospective markets and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement and working with the Divisional Director, Project Executives and Team Leaders in any technical aspects of business development and early project development activities
- Leading the technical project proposal activities, including assisting with technical writing for case studies/qualifications, project fee generation, and alignment of project technical staff.
- Responsible charge for the client maintenance on key mission critical and advanced manufacturing programs
- Senior Technical Project/Program management for high profile projects/programs
- Direct MEP Engineering staff in execution of work for mission critical and advanced manufacturing project deliverables
- Collaborate as a member of the Strategic Planning and Implementation (SPI) teams for Data Centers/Telecommunication and Federal markets
- Lead the Strategic Planning and Implementation (SPI) efforts for Chattanooga area business development
- Participate and engage in weekly divisional leadership meetings comprised of Principal Team Leaders and market-based Project Executives
- Mentorship with all engineering/design staff within the Mission Critical focused teams (reporting to ICT-Central) and having a general understanding of workflows associated with key project deliverables
- Support recruitment activities by conducting interviews with technical role candidates, including junior engineers and senior engineering staff
- Strategically work to build direct resources in the Chattanooga market to grow an office
Qualifications:
- 12+ Years Experience in Design/Consulting/Construction
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar
- Registered Professional Engineering (PE) license is required
- Expertise in mixed engineering principles for the field of building construction, especially in the mission critical, defense and advanced manufacturing sectors
- Ability to effectively communicate with owners, contractors, and other design professional partners
- Ability to leverage existing client relationships to bring new project opportunities to Salas O’Brien
- Capable of increasing technical competency with gained experience and work ethic
- Excellent client management and business acumen skills
- Excellent in application of all applicable Building (IBC, SBC, etc.) codes/standards, NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, Energy Codes, etc.
- Excellent in implementing high resiliency designs for mission critical, defense and advanced manufacturing infrastructure projects
- Proficient with Revit and its workflow capabilities when delegating and managing technical staff on projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills essential for team-based projects
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills required for overlapping project schedules
- Ability to work well independently as part of a strong team
