As Vice President of Sales at Defense Unicorns, you will be a leader of crucial importance, driving the next phase of our company’s growth journey. This strategic position requires an experienced executive who will build, cultivate, and lead a world-class defense tech sales organization. Possessing deep experience in support of the Department of Defense, you will effectively craft and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with mission-hero needs. As a key driver of growth, this position offers outcome based variable compensation to recognize and reward your pivotal contributions to a fast paced defense tech startup.

Responsibilities: 

Lead Strategic Growth

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies aligned with company objectives and core values.
  • Successfully capitalize on your robust network within the industry and demonstrated success selling to the Department of Defense.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing sales organization focused on the defense technology sector.
  • Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Marketing teams to refine value propositions and GTM positioning.
  • Create and implement repeatable sales processes that drive predictable revenue growth.
  • Oversee pipeline management and deliver accurate, data driven forecasting of projected growth. 

Drive Team Excellence

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent in the defense technology sector.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership while maintaining a player-coach approach.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and accountability frameworks.
  • Foster a culture of high achievement and continuous improvement.

Travel Expectations/Requirements: 10-25%

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience. Compensation ranges are established using national benchmarking data and apply across all geographic locations within the United States.
