HarperDB is seeking an experienced and dynamic VP of Sales to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth across the country. This senior leadership role is critical to our ongoing expansion, requiring a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership within the technology startup environment.

  • Build a repeatable and predictable sales motion to acquire and upsell customers through the channel and direct sales while also pursuing new business opportunities within target markets. 
  • Establish sales best practices by channel: team structure, effective tooling/systems, territory design, compensation design, sales playbook, and training/onboarding programs as well as for revenue generation KPIs, pipeline reporting, and forecasting through both channels.
  • Set and achieve sales quotas, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting in Salesforce and that the sales team adheres to best practices and utilizes sales enablement tools effectively.
  • Hire, recruit, and mentor a high-performing team of 4-8 sales and account management reps with top quartile retention who will unlock bookings through channel and direct with NSPs, DoD, Gaming/eCommerce as well as maintain continuity with Enterprise accounts and drive upsell bookings through new use-cases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, to align sales strategies with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and analysis to senior management.
  • Represent HarperDB at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.


  • Has served as a successful SaaS sales leader [incl. Director, VP, SVP etc.] in a $10-50M+ B2B software company overseeing lead generation, new client sales, and account management teams
  • Has experience and success selling to larger enterprise customers (companies with $1bn + TEV) using a consultative selling process
  • Has experience working effectively with channel partners 
  • Is highly technical and has prior experience or knowledgeable in infrastructure database software. Also has a strong understanding of cloud and enterprise architectures, including storage, security, and deployment best practices.
  • Has experience building and managing a high performing results-oriented enterprise sales teams in tech, including hiring, training, coaching and retaining sales talent with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Is proficient in CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, and other sales enablement tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a strategic approach to business development.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.

  • Prior experience with HarperDB or similar distributed database solutions.
  • Experience working with large, complex enterprises and navigating multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Go.
  • Project or program management experience.
