Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring for a VP, Sales & Business Development to join our team in our London or Milton Keynes, United Kingdom offices. 

This vacancy comes about through a planned retirement of the incumbent. You will be responsible for driving company growth and expansion through direct sales in the UK, Australia, and joint ventures in France and the UAE to meet global sales targets for Ingram Content Group. This key role manages the Lightning Source global print and distribution network through the Global Connect Program. It also identifies strategic opportunities, builds key partnerships and enhances revenue through new business initiatives. In addition, it develops and executes strategies to promote publisher content in print and digital formats, including publisher service and channel applications through close cooperation with colleagues in the wider business

The ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field.
  • 10 years’ experience in sales management or business development
  • 5 years’ experience in the book publishing industry

The key responsibilities are:

  • Develops and executes international channel strategy, territory and segment plans that are aligned with the company’s objectives to achieve revenue and market share growth.
  • Develops and manages the strategic direction for the Global Connect program ensuring the program is meeting the sales goals and client expectations.
  • Researches and analyzes industry trends and market dynamics to identify new business opportunities and develops sales and pricing strategies to strategies for successful penetration into those markets.
  • Leads key stakeholders across the company to achieve executed business plans.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with potential partners, publisher clients and key stakeholders.
  • Manages and leads the sales teams in achieving revenue targets and fosters a culture of sales excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Presents range of products and services to key publishers and ensures exceptional support through the application, title set up and ordering process.
  • Manages inter-company issue resolution to ensure excellent teamwork and coordination between Sales, Client Services, Channel Development and Marketing teams
  • Develops and monitors sales budgets/forecasts, to achieve strategic goals and deliver results for ICG in International markets
  • Leads successful content acquisition for print and digital products ICG through developing and overseeing implementation of international Sales strategies and processes
  • Attends industry functions and key meetings, prepares and delivers industry speeches and assists in public relations efforts
  • Recommends and implements company policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and negotiates complex quotes, contracts, agreements and partnerships to ensure favorable terms for the company.
  • Provides weekly sales activity reports and updates the executive team, highlighting key performance metrics and progress towards growth goals.
  • Evaluates and makes necessary changes to sales team practices and staff to support goal achievement, ensuring regular training sessions for the sales associates
