The Power Solutions Group (PSG) is seeking a highly experienced technical leader to define and drive our next-generation solution strategy across AI infrastructure, automotive, and industrial applications.
This role serves as the organization's senior solution architect and technical strategist, operating across all PSG divisions and in close partnership with AMG (Analog and Mixed Signal Group), customers, and executive leadership. The successful candidate will establish a unified technology vision, engage directly with customer power architects, and help translate emerging system architectures into product, technology, and roadmap requirements.
This individual will operate at a senior level, helping PSG evolve from a component-centric organization to a solution-focused business capable of delivering integrated power solutions that capture greater customer value and accelerate growth.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
Solution Architecture Leadership
- Evaluate emerging system architectures, technology transitions, and market trends to identify strategic opportunities.
- Establish technology direction across power devices, drivers, controllers, packaging, sensing, and protection solutions.
- Drive architecture-level decision making to ensure investments align with future application requirements.
- Develop a unified "One PSG" technology vision across divisions.
Customer Engagement & Market Insight
- Engage directly with strategic customers, industry leaders, and hyperscalers to understand future application requirements.
- Build executive and technical relationships with customer power architects and system architects.
- Lead architecture-level discussions that influence future customer platforms and technology directions.
- Identify key customer challenges and translate needs into actionable technology and product development plans.
- Represent PSG as a senior technical spokesperson in customer engagements and industry forums.
Product Definition & Roadmap Development
- Translate customer and market requirements into technology, product, and solution roadmaps.
- Define application-focused requirements that align development investments across PSG.
- Guide product definition activities across multiple divisions to ensure consistency and strategic alignment.
- Evaluate tradeoffs between alternative power architectures and recommend optimal solutions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Coordinate closely with AMG and PSG division leaders to align device, driver, controller, communication, and compute roadmaps.
- Drive co-optimization of technologies to achieve best-in-class solution performance.
- Influence investment priorities and technology development decisions across the organization.
Technical Thought Leadership
- Build internal capability in power architecture, system design, and magnetics.
- Establish best practices for solution-level product definition and technology planning.
- Mentor engineering leaders and technical staff across the organization.
- Shape PSG's future technology strategy and competitive positioning.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Semiconductor Engineering, or related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in power semiconductor, power systems, power conversion, or related industries.
- Proven experience defining architectures for:
- AI/Data Center Power Systems
- Automotive Electrification
- Industrial Power Systems
- Renewable Energy or Energy Storage Systems
- Deep understanding of power conversion architectures, power semiconductors, controls, magnetics, and system integration.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across large and complex organizations.
- Extensive experience working directly with Tier-1 customers and executive stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor product strategy or CTO/Chief Architect roles.
- Expertise in Si, SiC, GaN, power management, and advanced packaging technologies.
- Familiarity with hyperscale data center power infrastructure.
- Experience leading cross-business-unit technology initiatives.
- Published industry thought leadership, patents, or recognized technical accomplishments.
