The Role
Copy.ai has a rare and exciting opportunity to bring on our 1st VP of Product who is going to be our product champion and advocate for our generative AI tools and products. We are looking for a proven Product Leader with big vision, innovative strategy, and the ability to execute on a product road map that will take Copy.ai to the next level. You have already been part of high-impact and successful SaaS startups that have hyper-scaled and even IPO'd. You have been a major player in high-level Product decisions at startups that are disrupting other spaces, and you have the product and business acumen to make such large-scale decisions. You are a natural-born leader and can lead, coach, mentor, and support our existing world class product team comprised of senior product managers and senior product designers. You have previous experience and find pride in leveling up your team so that they can continue to achieve their professional goals and aspirations. You will partner closely with our CEO and Leadership Team to lead product direction and have a solid understanding of which product priorities should make the road map each quarter. You will collaborate warmly and effectively cross-functionally with all surrounding teams including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, and People, to ensure product and team cohesion throughout the organization. Lastly, you are passionate about the generative AI space and products, and Copy.ai's products and potential specifically, and will be a product champion and advocate from day 1.
What you'll do:
- Influence and shape Copy.ai's long-term product vision, strategy, goals, and metrics
- Redefine and redesign the product function; what it's responsible for, how it interfaces with other teams, and how it'll grow and develop over time
- Enable effective execution. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and the team to create effective collaboration models, processes, and operations to improve execution velocity.
- Build alignment across product teams and cross-functional leaders through clear communication and strategic influence
- Lead, coach, motivate, and mentor our highly-capable and growing team of Product Managers and Product Designers
About you:
- You have 12+ years of Product Management experience; 5+ years directly leading a Product Team at a rapidly-growing startup
- You have a proven track record of delivering a unified product vision, having creatively solved complex problems along the way.
- You’re comfortable being a player/coach, meaning rolling up your sleeves while putting your team first.
- You're low-ego and a great collaborator. We're a team that prioritizes building trust through speaking candidly so we can learn together.
- You have experience attracting, developing, mentoring and retaining a high-performing, world-class Product Team
- Competence in technology disciplines, opportunities, and constraints to bridge both the business and technical aspects of satisfying the customer need
- You empathize with writers, marketers, and business owners and understand the challenges of bringing creative content to life.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area
