Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and creative Vice President, Product Design that has shipped multiple highly rated applications to lead our growing UX/UI team. Reporting to the SVP, Product Development, the VP is responsible for expanding our corporate-wide design function while ensuring the highest level of craft and execution. The VP will recruit, lead, and mentor designers, researchers, and writers to deliver on multiple web, mobile, desktop, television, and voice user interface initiatives simultaneously using iterative and empirical approaches. They will collaborate with product management, engineering, and stakeholders to systematically define and deliver human centric products that make Altice USA a trusted service provider.
The role is pivotal in ensuring our employees and customers are delivered experiences that meet their needs and wants, while driving returns on investments. The VP will level up our design strategy and operations by applying rigorous design, research, and quality assurance principles ultimately being measured by their end users' satisfaction.
Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and scale the design team as well as championing a strong design culture
  • Employs the art and science of design to be a leader in establishing product vision and strategy
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive design system that guides the development of our products
  • Define processes, practices, and culture that values and encourages cross-functional collaboration
  • Regularly interacts with end users (customer / employees) to understand their needs / wants
  • Connect multiple data hypothesis together to establish a larger narrative supported through data
  • Transform ideas into creative, simple and responsive designs that are validated within budget and technology constraints
  • Anticipate the delta in effort between options with functional partners
  • Coach others on best practices for creating sketches, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and production artifacts
  • Advocate for the importance of continuous, rapid testing and learning
  • Consistently help teams overcome obstacles and complete work
  • Designs achieve successful outcomes consistently
  • Define career paths to help the team identify opportunities for growth and achieve their goals
  • Partners regularly with senior leadership stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Technology, Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of fifteen years of software and hardware product development with increasing leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated data literacy in support of product and design decisions
  • Financial acumen to understands and articulate the company's profits and losses financials, contributing as a leader in ROI and budget analysis
  • Expertise in popular design, prototyping, user science, and experimentation tools
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of product security
  • Exceptional customer communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and effectively manage design deliveries in support of an exceptional customer experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and optimize operational efficiency
  • Project management skills and the ability to oversee multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Exhibits natural and intuitive stakeholder and user empathy

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $178,500.00 - $255,000.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
