The Role

VP, Operations

Humboldt - Remote

The VP of Operations will be responsible for recommending and executing a strategy for overall organizational objectives.  The role will require, but is not limited to, analyzing, managing, and execution of Senior Management initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Execute on the goals and objectives of the HMS leadership team as defined by senior management and support HMS growth.
  • Work with Sponsor Bank(s) and North entities to establish and maintain a productive and positive rapport.
  • Be an expert with respect to Industry and provide management with analysis outlining industry rule and regulation changes along with recommendations on recommended actions.
  • Articulate the North/HMS vision into a clear direction for the business; Ensure current service levels and direction support the company’s overall strategy and goals.
  • Provide regular analysis and metrics on HMS performance and review of requests (internal and external) by senior management.
  • Oversight of HMS leaders, to include but not limited to work flows, strategic initiatives and evaluations for customer care, boarding, underwriting, compliance and risk functions.
  • Provide senior-level approval when necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the HMS portfolio.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects in support of HMS needs and growth.

What we need from you:

  • Some College Required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years’ supervisory or management experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in underwriting and risk management in the payments industry.
  • Proven track record of working independently and taking ownership of complex initiatives.
  • Ability to manage a large range of priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to troubleshoot identified operations problems directly when escalated.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic development minded individual
  • Ability to react to rapidly changing market conditions, strategic and critical thinker; beyond task oriented.
