About the Role

Anchor is hiring a VP Marketing to build and scale a world-class AI-first marketing organization.

This is not a channel operator role, but rather a systems architect position. The VP Marketing designs, builds, and operates the full marketing engine across Brand, Growth, Product Marketing, and Strategy & Operations. The mandate is to turn marketing into a predictable, capital-efficient growth system aligned with business outcomes.

The role carries an AI-first operating mandate. Marketing must be governed and executed through AI-enabled systems across planning, execution, analytics, and optimization to materially increase output, speed to signal, and efficiency.

The VP Marketing reports to the CEO and is a core member of the executive leadership team. Success is measured in revenue impact, efficiency, scalability, and organizational strength.

Responsibility

Business Outcomes:

You are accountable for marketing’s contribution to-

  • Marketing-sourced and influenced pipeline, including PLG signups and SLG demos, and Marketing-attributed revenue
  • CAC and payback improvement, funnel efficiency, and win-rate improvement, along with forecast accuracy

Marketing must be measurable, predictable, and aligned with company growth targets.

Brand & Category Leadership:

Define and evolve Anchor’s category positioning and narrative architecture while strengthening brand equity. Success is measured by brand visibility, branded demand growth, category association, and market credibility.

Growth Portfolio Strategy:

Design the growth portfolio across organic, paid, outbound, partnerships, field marketing, and emerging channels. Decide capital allocation across engines and balance short-term revenue drivers with long-term compounding assets while leading the Head of Growth organization.

Product Marketing & Lifecycle:

Own positioning and messaging architecture, define ICP segmentation and vertical expansion strategy, and govern website and conversion strategy. Build sales enablement systems and lifecycle, retention, advocacy, and virality motions aligned across PLG and SLG funnels. Success is measured by improved activation, win rates, velocity, and customer expansion.

Marketing Strategy & Operations :

Build marketing as a disciplined operating system, including OKRs, planning frameworks, dashboards, reporting standards, and forecasting accuracy. Govern budget planning, unit economics, and alignment with Sales and Product.

Marketing must operate through an AI:

Enabled system covering experimentation velocity, workflow automation, analytics, and performance management.

Leadership Mandate:

Design the marketing organization structure and hiring roadmap. Recruit and develop senior leaders while establishing operating rhythms, cross-functional alignment rituals, and governance processes.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of marketing leadership in B2SMB or B2B SaaS
  • 5+ years in a VP Marketing or CMO role
  • Experience scaling marketing from early stage to structured growth
  • Direct ownership of the pipeline and revenue targets
  • Experience managing multi-channel growth portfolios
  • Experience operating in hybrid PLG and SLG models
  • Demonstrated improvement of CAC, payback, and funnel efficiency
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar marketing budgets

Strategic and Operational Skills:

  • Led at least 2 positioning or category-building initiatives
  • Built at least 4 marketing financial plans and unit economics models
  • Built and scaled marketing teams of 5+ people
  • Experience building marketing operating systems
  • Proven experience scaling growth through structured experimentation
  • Demonstrated experience redesigning marketing workflows using AI to increase output, speed to signal, and cost efficiency
  • Ability to govern AI adoption across tooling, data quality, experimentation, and build-vs-buy decisions
